I had no idea how long to wait before sharing this, but I thought there's no time like the present. I simply wish to say the biggest thank you to my mentor Jenny Grinwis. Jenny came into my life as our very own wedding photographer. I was keenly interested in photography already but it wasn't until after our engagement shoot with her that pursuing photography further became my dream... I began to irritate Jenny on a weekly basis for advice and assistance, and Jenny would freely give of her time to offer criticisms, compliments and really great feedback. Jenny's support for me has taught me a lot, the number one thing being: It really does matter that you are a nice person, especially if you are a photographer.
Jenny, you are such an amazing photographer and friend and I feel so blessed that you have such faith in me as a fellow photographer. If ever I have doubted myself, you have been there uplifting and supporting me, even though you're kilometres away. Your generosity in a field so competitive has blown me away a thousand times over and I cannot thank you enough for the encouragement you have always provided. Of everyone I know, I think you will have noticed the growth more than anyone else, so your opinion has meant the most to me! I also want to thank you for the amazing opportunity you have given me in putting my name forward to become part of such an amazing community: The Marriage Meander (KZN). It truly feels like I have been welcomed home with open arms (Nikki is so lovely)! Words are not enough but I hope to someday repay you for all the kindness you have shown me, and just really everything you have done for me. Thank you!

![]() Kristie is the beautiful lady standing next to the beautiful bride (Lauren) in the photograph alongside. Our friendship began 9 years ago, but the awareness of our mutual love for photography and design came about fairly recently and it's maybe through that, that we have drawn a little closer. We're both completely addicted and I like to refer the overflow of design work onto Kristie when I can't cope as she is my most reliable "colleague" in the world of freelance design. In May I was lucky enough to photograph our special friend Lauren's wedding. Kristie was a guest and I seized the moment for an impromptu collaboration as soon as I had the chance. In saying that, I really only prompted her after the wedding, but I also wanted pics from a guest's perspective to feature in the collection of images for Lauren and Lee. Kristie is a natural and I want the best for her, and to support her in her pursuit of photography and design greatness. Here are a few photographs snapped by the lovely lady. Watch this space as I can only vouch that Kristie is on her way up, up and up! To get to her Facebook page, click here. |
