It's been a little while since I last posted on the blog. March has been a wonderfully mad month. We have been chockers with things to do and it seems April is heading in the same direction. Aside from the bustle, we at least got to take a break in the beautiful mountains. This past weekend we set off to the Northern Drakensberg for a bit of camping, reading, hiking and snapping with my 50mm lens. Camping at Mahai or Rugged Glen in the Royal Natal National Park has, it seems, become an annual tradition for us, especially over the March/April long weekend periods. It is especially beautiful this time of year. It is situated just a little below the world renowned Drakensberg Ampitheatre and while the grass is still lush and green, the leaves on the plain trees are starting to turn their glorious orange. The views are simply breathtaking. Sometimes the only words left to describe some of our South African treasures, just like the Berg is, "Wow"! We're back at work this week and I am sporting a bad sun burn on the back of my neck from our hike up "The Crack"... The blisters are worth the 5 hours of hiking 8km and seeing the magnificent views on offer at such high altitude. Can't wait to go back!
